Question:
Can a Mac run Windows and Microsoft Office?
Answer:
You bet, the newer Intel based Mac's come with a cool new tool built into the operating system called Boot Camp. You will need a full version of Windows XP or Vista on disk to make it work and the Mac OSX disk included with your Mac. Once installed you have the option to hold a key combination on your keyboard at start up and you get the option to boot into a full version of Windows or a full version of Mac!
Additionally you can acquire third party software allowing you to run your Boot Camp XP/Vista in a virtual Mac environment giving you the option to run both side by side on your Mac.
As far as Office is concerned, Microsoft distributes a full version of there software suite for Mac. Several Mac based programs will also open and read most all of the formats. Lastly, there are some Mac specific third party programs out there both open sourced / freeware and downloadable pay programs that will do the same and can be much more economical.
